Thursday, February 28, 2008 – Beyond Mondrian

Mondrian, the Dutch painter famous for his grids of primary colors, would smile at this. West Los Angeles, driving north on Sepulveda north of Pico, you come to this, at Tennessee Avenue – full geometric color.  There's no signage on the building, so you don't know what this is, but it's amazing.  Mondrian died in 1944 in New York, in that grim geometric grid of Manhattan. Someone carried on his work out here.
