City Candid

From Ric Erickson, editor of MetropoleParis, as he finishes up his long stay in New York, the other classic shots of the city -

Four shots to add to Martin's classic views of the New York harbor - last Thursday, June 2, at the foot of the World Trade Center on the Hudson side.

There's a small marina and a lot of patio linking the World Trade Center buildings to the river, and the sundown behind Jersey City on the other side. If you are overcome by the beauty of it all you may settle in at PJ Clark's terrace café for a ten dollar hamburger and think the view looks a bit like Venice as the ferries light up. Playing for twenty-four hours in the Winter Garden of the World Trade Center – the Bang-On-a-Can festival. Out the front door brings back reality, when you face the frantic effort - since September 11, 2001 - to replace the irreplaceable. Aside from reality, New York has its agreeable moments quite often.
