Wednesday, September 26, 2007 – Halloween Coming

Five weeks before Halloween and Hollywood is getting ready.  There's this at the Dapper Cadaver, 5519 Hollywood Boulevard (Animal Props, Coffins and Caskets, Forensic and Morgue Props, Medical Props, Prop Body Parts, Prop Corpses and Dummies, Prop Heads, Scientific and Laboratory Props, Specimens and Fetuses, and Halloween goodies for the masses).

How to get Halloween props from here to there –

At the café at Hollywood and Vine – perhaps one should not do lunch here. 

Above the café, the newly restored stone faces at the Equitable Building – 1929, Alexander Curlett, architect. It's now THE LOFTS @ HOLLYWOOD AND VINE, and you can live here if you wish.

Who cares about stone faces? The face of a popular Spanish-language morning DJ on a billboard at Hollywood and Vine, and he's scary enough –

Halloween on your television – in the window of the curio shop next door to the Dapper Cadaver, Hollywood Boulevard –

Most of these photographs were shot with a Nikon D70 - using lens (1) AF-S Nikkor 18-70 mm 1:35-4.5G ED, or (2) AF Nikkor 70-300mm telephoto, or after 5 June 2006, (3) AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor, 55-200 mm f/4-5.6G ED. They were modified for web posting using Adobe Photoshop 7.0.  Earlier photography was done with a Sony Mavica digital still camera (MVC-FD-88) with built-in digital zoom.
