Monday, June 9, 2008 – Hollywood Haze

Just another surreal Monday on Hollywood Boulevard in June – early afternoon, smoggy, hot and oddly quiet – too quiet –

If you were a writer in Hollywood – F. Scott Fitzgerald or Nathanael West or any of the others who somehow found themselves here – you'd probably want to write in this garret, right above Hollywood Boulevard, looking down on Elvis at the lunch counter.  The Baine Building, 6601-09 Hollywood Boulevard, Gogerty and Weyl, architects, 1926 –
