Thursday, July 31, 2008 Psychic Dislocation

The pre-dawn ground fog on the last morning of July in Los Angeles just wouldn't go away.  There was no real sunrise the morning just slowly got less dark, and then oddly translucent. It was kind of spooky, and mysteriously quiet and you suspected most people were feeling dislocated and a tad alienated.  This was the other Southern California, and one of those days you just notice things.

There was this psychic shop on Venice Boulevard, just west of Sepulveda

But the sun broke through, finally, and fell full on this moon and lotus blossom down the way in Santa Monica

But in Venice there was this odd double-locked door

Near that door, an odd mural
