Friday, February 22, 2008 – The Oscar Scene

It's crazy time here in Hollywood. On Sunday, February 24, at five in the evening out here, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences will present the Oscars, over at the Kodak Theater. Here's a bit of the scene this year – the Friday before, between storms. The steady rain ended at dawn, then a day of low clouds, then more rain – and heavy rain coming Saturday evening that is supposed to end just as the stars arrive on the red carpet Sunday afternoon. We’ll see.

Hollywood Boulevard is closed at the theater, filled with tents and satellite trucks, and many of the adjoining streets are closed too, driving the locals crazy.  But you need an insider look at all this, don't you?
