Saturday, July 4, 2009 – Tin Lizzies

The 2009 Fourth of July parade in Rancho Bernardo, California – inland San Diego County, between Camp Pendleton just to the north – the Marines, their center on the West Coast – and San Diego to the south, with its massive Navy base – the area is politically conservative (solid Republican) and intensely and militantly patriotic. They pull out all the stops for the Fourth of July.  And each year the local Shriners show up in those little cars – it's the Al Bahr Shriners Tin Lizzie Unit.
