Tuesday, January 20, 2009 – Heroic Patriotism

Yucca Vine Tower, 6305-09 Yucca Street (at Vine), H. L. Gogerty of Gogerty & Weyl Architects, 1928

Yep, the flag and some eagles, the day of the inauguration of Barack Obama as the forty-fourth president, as the third act of America begins.  You remember Act One, starring Thomas Jefferson – All Men Are Created Equal. And you remember Act Two, Lincoln and then the end of the Civil War – No, Really, They Are. Tuesday, January 20, 2009, was the beginning of Act Three – Getting It Right.

This is the Yucca Vine Tower, 6305-09 Yucca Street (at Vine), H. L. Gogerty of Gogerty & Weyl Architects, 1928 – now the central feature of the Los Angeles campus of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.  Architects did heroic back then, with watchmen and everything.

In the distance, negative thoughts –
