Wednesday, December 8, 2010 – Otherworldly

At the former Amoon Ra Restaurant and Café - 980 North La Cienega Boulevard, West Hollywood

You can find the otherworldly on any corner out here. Down the hill at the corner of North La Cienega and Romaine there's the desolate Amoon Ra Restaurant and Hookah Bar – abandoned, all the furniture gone. Now it's like visiting the Great Pyramids at Giza or the Temple of Karnack – spooky echoes of the past, unintentionally ironic now.

The psychic shop with the fortunetellers is still in business next door –

A temptress floats above it all –

He's mad! He's electric! Actually he's the new director of the LA Phil – Gustavo Dudamel – and he's Venezuelan.

Everything's otherworldly down on La Cienega – and a Cienega is an inland marsh or bog –
