Saturday, December 13, 2008 – Dublin Architecture

There seems to be a lot of the eighteenth century in Dublin, Ireland.  Jonathan Swift had returned from England to be Dean at Saint Patrick's as the Hanoverian Kings came to rule England, one George after another.  So the architecture turned Georgian – or neo-Augustan if you wish – all formal and calm. It's still there, as Martin shows us.
