The best old movie theater - Fox, Westwood Village - you can imagine Rudolf Valentino rolling up in his favorite convertible, his cream-colored Bugatti, to see his last silent film, then driving home to Whitely Heights to his Falcon's Lair, to die.  (Whitely Heights is in the hills just behind Musso and Frank shown on the previous page – down the hill is Hollywood Boulevard, walk just up the hill and through the residents' gate and over the rise and you're at the Hollywood Bowl, the top rear seats – and Whitely Heights is where the likes of Maurice Chevalier lived when out here.)  But Rudolf Valentino died in 1926 and this was built in 1932, so you probably should imagine Joan Leslie at the Fox Westwood autographing this and that for people on the sidewalk in the forties.  It's a reminder of when the movies were important to folks, not corporate subsidiaries churning out cookie-cutter remakes of second-rate television shows like Starsky and Hutch.
