Monday, June 1, 2009 – June Gloom

June Gloom – we know it well out here. From Memorial Day through the Fourth of July an eddy in the Catalina Channel forms and streams low clouds in off the Pacific, every day, day after day.  The mornings are dark, and the sun fitfully breaks out in late afternoon, sometimes – then in early evening it all rolls in again. It's very Film Noir, or a Raymond Chandler thing.  But it makes for good light in Hollywood.
