Tuesday, June 30, 2009 – Still Dead

Michael Jackson's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame - Tuesday, June 30, 2009

In the first years of Saturday Night Live they used to have a running joke, a bulletin that was part of each week's fake newscast – "This just in! Spanish dictator Francisco Franco is still dead!"

At Michael Jackson's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, right in the front of Grauman's Chinese Theater, the crowds were still ten deep the Tuesday after his death, and the satellite trucks were still there, and a few news crews doing remotes. And he was still dead.

Spiderman was there to make a few bucks off the grieving masses –

The folks who schedule the new plays down the street at the Stella Adler Theater probably didn't plan to be all ironic and topical, but such things happen –
