Friday, October 8, 2010 – What We Like

Out here in Hollywood, at the epicenter of popular culture, the trick is to offer the sort of thing that resonates with the masses – the idea is to capture the zeitgeist in some form, and then to market what you've captured. People will pay good money, over and over, to see what they believe to be true about the human condition, refined and compressed into a movie or television show, or into a catchy tune. And thus you reinforce and amplify that zeitgeist, so you can make even more money doing the same thing over and over. And on the Sunset Strip, at Queens Road, this is the set piece that promotes the new movie "Jackass 3-D" – which shows what we believe to be true about the human condition.

But there are other truths about the human condition –
