Tuesday, October 7, 2008 – No Place to Be

Halloween is coming – the night to be someone else, or something else. But that's every single day on Hollywood Boulevard. Stella Adler trained everyone from Marlon Brando to Robert De Niro to Warren Beatty – she was the only American to be trained by Stanislavski, even if she broke with Lee Strasberg over who had it right and Strasberg went on to develop that Method Acting stuff. It doesn't matter. This is the marquee at the Stella Adler Theater on Hollywood Boulevard, sort of explaining Hollywood – no place to be someone.  Be someone else.

You could be a neon Egyptian.  There's one across the street.

Oh yeah – as Halloween nears, the shops are selling the appropriate posters.
