Thursday, May 7, 2009 – Ideal Beach

The ideal beach – Ocean Beach Park just south of Santa Monica but not yet silly Venice Beach – where Ocean Park Boulevard ends at the sand – the place for volleyball and a view up the bay – Santa Monica Pier, Pacific Palisades, Malibu – and no shops, no street vendors, no would-be hippies, no panhandlers or punks out to prove something, no graffiti, and no tourists from Iowa –
