The Hollywood Sign as seen From Selma Avenue

Hollywood is a dissolute place of course the residue of acute and overwhelming narcissism clogs the streets. You see it in the streets around Sunset and Vine.

At the Hollywood Athletic Club, founded by Charlie Chaplin, Cecil B. DeMille, and Rudolph Valentino, as a private men's club and later a hangout for Errol Flynn and Clark Gable Dick Powell brought the corpse of John Barrymore here for "one last drink" and here John Wayne liked to toss billiard balls from the roof at passing cars below. It figures.
